La direction des Corinthians a décidé de se séparer de l'entraineur Nelsinho Baptista qui avait pourtant conduit le club au titre en 1990. Globe-trotter du football, Nelsinho était revenu en fin de saison il y a 3 mois pour tenter de sauver les Corinthians de la relégation. L'échec de sa mission a scellé son sort. Nelsinho a été débarqué et se retrouve sans club.
